Steven works collectively and cooperatively with fellow mediators, collaborators and litigation attorneys. Certifications

1) Collaboration - Mediation

My style of collaborative/mediation has me structure my process to assist the parties in reaching a mutually agreeable resolution. I ask questions; I validate and normalize the parties' points of view; I search for interests underneath the positions taken by parties; and I assist the parties in finding and analyzing options for resolution.

I hold joint sessions with all parties present so that the parties can hear each other's points of view, and caucus regularly. I help parties take responsibility for their own disputes and assist them in finding resolution to their disputes.

I want to ensure that parties come to agreements based on information and understanding. I want the parties to have awareness and knowledge on the financial decisions made, and welcome ideas and proposal suggestions from their respective attorneys � who provide guidance to legal �fairness.�

2) Litigation - Consulting

I have been called to testify many times as an expert witness in the Superior Court of the State of California, offering expert testimony regarding income available for support, business valuation, marital standard of living analysis, tracing, reimbursements and other financial matters including investigating accounting, employee dishonesty/embezzlement calculations and inventory loss analysis.
